Bringing Edinburgh Communities Together

Sponsors & Partners

We are grateful to the following organisations for their financial support towards the project.

Awards for All   Awards for All
Awards for all is a lottery programme providing grants to a wide range of community, arts, sports, heritage, health and environmental projects.

In 2008, Awards For All made it possible for Upward Mobility to purchase a wide range of equipment and supplies. Digital camcorders, a projector, music equipment and arts materials were all acquired. Much to the delight of staff and students!

 Neighbourhood Partnership   Leith Neighbourhood Partnership
The Neighbourhood Partnerships in Edinburgh include representatives from the council and a number of public services. These partnerships work together to fund local initiatives in Edinburgh that enhance or benefit the lives of the local community.

The Partnership provided funding towards our Green Seeds Programme, allowing Upward Mobility to offer gardening workshops in addition to our Arts Programme. Staffing costs, tools and gardening materials were all provided for and the project now offers classes in both Musselburgh and North Berwick.

Further funding for the Green Seeds Programme came from NHS Lothian with an emphasis on the health and dietary requirements of students. This healthy living ethos has been maintained within the Upward Mobility framework and extended to our cooking workshops.

Students are encouraged to grow their own produce in our community gardens, so learning to be healthy has never been so much fun!
