Drama - Production for Film

Who is it for?
This workshop is for anyone who has seen a film or TV show and thought “how do they do that?” Whether you’re interested in being behind the camera or in front of it, you can find out in this session.

A typical session:
The workshop combines performance with the technical skills needed to create a short film. The group is split into those who would like to act and those who want to be behind the camera, directing, inventing plot lines and editing. Everyone is encouraged to try out different roles and work together to create a complete short film. The film is then edited together, screened and added to Upward Mobility’s rapidly increasing library of student made films. These are shown at exhibitions, festivals and break times.

What will I learn?
Students will be given the opportunity to develop skills using scripts, storyboards, props, costumes, characterisation and cameras. One or two skills will be the main focus for a series of weeks.
