Musical Theatre
We love to sing, move and act our way through as many show songs and pop numbers as we can!
Who is it for?
This class is predominantly for the girls at the moment, but we welcome anyone who is as mad for musicals as we are! Students have a love of singing, movement and look to build confidence and skills through performance.
A typical session
We start with a re-cap of our previous week and introduce our aim for today. All students participate in a fun warm-up which includes a new aspect of singing technique. From breathing to exploring different voice qualities, we work at our own pace and level. The first half of the session is focused on our current project and consists of rehearsal, choreography and performance. (At the moment we are writing, rehearsing, staging and prop-making for our own musical) In the second part of the session, time is allocated to individual pieces and personalized development.
What can they expect to learn in a 10-week term?
Singing and performance technique: including breathing, posture, voice quality. Musical concepts. Developing confidence through performance. Evaluating yourself and others. Being part of an audience. How much fun it is to perform for others!
